  1. Hey.

    Thanks again for sharing.

    I also use FlashDevelop (FTW!)
My computer is running Windows XP (if/when I get enough $$ saved, I’ll upgrade to 7, but XP is just fine right now)

Not a _huge_ gamer. I don’t play lots of AAA games, other than Battlefield 2. NOT BF3; apparently, my graphics cards isn’t “up to par”, but more importantly, I just don’t agree with the game’s design. If there was at least the AIX 2.0 mod for BF3, then yeah, but since, I’m not much of an online gamer, I don’t care for it. Ok, so I digress… (:

A few months ago, I bought one of those little super-light, slim keyboards. I really like it over the traditional bulky ones. Simple optic mouse, nothing fancy, and a headset. The mic comes in handy, especially when I need to chat with clients (freelance Flash game programming), and I do all my calls over Skype.

    My other tools are:
    - Paint.NET. I’m neither an artist, nor do I put myself out there as one. However, I will use it for simple things, like settings up thumb nails, screen shoots and such. (I did draw all the art for my own two Flash games, but that’s beside the point.) I tried Gimp on three different occasions, and uninstalled it three times – I just can’t get into using that. With Paint.NET, the UI was just… easier for me to grasp.

    - Notepad++: I actually prefer to use this as my standard text editor for non-coding purposes, instead of opening FlashDevelop or *cough*Windows Notepad just to read a TXT file.

    - OpenMPT (formerly ModPlug Tracker). I used this for my own music and sound effects.

    - Flash IDE: Ok, I HATE this tool. The only reason I use it is for clients (they have artists that do do their vector animations in FLA format). The code editor sucks, it has a tendency to crash, undo doesn’t UNDO, compiling takes forever. I refuse to use this for my own stuff.

    - D.A.M.E.: I’m just getting into using this map editor. While it was designed for flixel (which I don’t use), I am learning how to use its export functionality, to convert map data into a format that I can use. Of course, this required me to use *cough*Lua, but other than that, it’s a nice tool if you’re into making your own maps.

I currently don’t develop for Android, I(fill-in-the-suffix) devices, or any mobile devices.

    That’s pretty much it.
