    Thanks for sharing, Andy.

    I hope you get all that sorted out. It sounds like you’re now on the right track, though.
    I’ve used a simple profit and loss spreadsheet template that I found on OpenOffice, and I give it to my tax accountant each year. My pitfall was that I _didn’t_ do this my very first year, so my tax bill for that year was… hefty. Now, I keep track of everything coming into and going out of my account, and itemize everything, as well as try to keep a handle on the quarterly estimated tax payments each year.

    The only other thing I can add is, if you ‘re not already doing so, be sure to back up these important documents regularly. I’ve been burned by that one early on, too.
