GGJ 2010: UBC

Global Game Jam 2010: UBC

I was invited to be a mentor at the GGJ 48-hour-game-creation event at the University of British Columbia. Between helping out the various teams at their tables, I started some work on my own little game: Bait and Switch. It was going to be some sort of dynamic tower-defense game, but I couldn’t complete it because…

One of the teams lost their programmer halfway into the event. With only 24 hours left on the clock, I pulled an all-nighter and helped them go from zero source to a fully working two-player peggle-esque game. A last-minute compiler error and extremely limited time left Mister Pickles Dunks Some Skunks in a playable, but somewhat broken, condition. Shouts out to Brian Ford and Alice Tai for their excellent (and lovably grotesque) artwork, and Nick Lewis for producing a full (12 song!) soundtrack and countless sound effects in such short order.
